Sanskrit (Devanagari) is not just a language; it is the repository of thousands of years of human knowledge in astronomy, medicine (Ayurveda), mathematics, and spirituality. However, a significant gap exists between these ancient texts and the modern digital world.
Our mission is simple: To democratize access to Sanskrit literature. We are building the bridge that allows a student in New York, a researcher in Berlin, or a devotee in Varanasi to instantly digitize and understand ancient manuscripts using the phone in their pocket.
The Technology Stack
Anuvāda Scholar is not a simple dictionary lookup tool. It is a sophisticated AI application powered by a cutting-edge stack:
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR): We use advanced vision models fine-tuned to recognize the complex ligatures (Samyuktakshara) and Vedic accents of the Devanagari script.
- Advanced Sanskrit AI : The core translation engine is powered by advanced sanskrit AI. This allows us to go beyond literal translation and understand the syntax, sandhi (word fusion), and context of the verse.
- Cross-Platform Architecture: Built with Flutter and Python FastAPI, ensuring a seamless experience whether you are on our Android App or this Web Portal.
Why We Built This
Traditional translation tools (like Google Translate) often struggle with Sanskrit because they treat it like a modern language. They fail to recognize:
- Vibhakti (Case Endings): In Sanskrit, word order doesn't matter; the word ending determines the meaning.
- Poetic Meter: Most Sanskrit texts are written in verse (Shlokas), which requires a different translation approach than prose.
Anuvāda Scholar was built to specifically address these linguistic nuances, providing a "Word-by-Word" analysis that helps the user learn the language while translating it.
Future Roadmap
We are constantly innovating. Under the guidance of Brand Reflex, we are working on:
- Voice-to-Sanskrit: Chanting analysis and pronunciation correction.
- Manuscript Archival: Partnering with libraries to digitize palm-leaf manuscripts at scale.
